Some clients who perhaps haven’t worked for some length of time, or someone who has undertaken Job Crew work and feels ready to look for paid employment just need some support whilst looking for work. This could involve support workers looking out for potential jobs in any area that the client had expressed an interest in whether it’s been advertised in the local paper, online, in the Jobcentre or just by word of mouth. The client is obviously encouraged to do the same and is able to contact us when they have found something they wish to apply for.
Depending on their ability and their confidence, they might require assistance in completing an application form, creating a CV or preparing for an interview. It could also take the form of reminding them of past skills they had and how they might apply to a new potential job, researching the company or organisation they are applying for, assisting with spelling and grammar and just boosting their confidence in general.
Moving On also offers its service to current employers or employees who may be experiencing difficulties in their workplace for whatever reason. This could be helping to negotiate new working conditions such as different hours, duties or responsibilities, helping address issues when personalities clash or just offering advice and support. Many problems can be addressed and overcome and its often the case that its in both parties interests to perhaps make some small changes to make the working relationship work, rather than an employee having to look for work elsewhere or for the employer to spend time and money advertising and training up new people.
